So Lucky Fun Fold

So Lucky Fun Fold

Hey everybody, happy Wednesday! I hope you’re having a good week! I have to ask - are you a fun fold fanatic? You may have already noticed that I am (wink-wink)! Leslie here, sharing a tutorial for a book cradle fun fold. This is my first attempt at this particular fold and it’s an interesting one! I used stamps and ephemera from our new So Lucky collection which I paired with several green prints from the Winter Warmers 6x6 Patterned Paper Pack and a couple Gold Mirror Peel-Off Stickers. This collection is a must-have for any coffee lovers out there!

2.    So Lucky Ephemera Pack
3.    Winter Warmers 6x6 Patterned Paper Pack

CUT CARD BASE PIECES

1. Top panels: 4" x 6" (cut 2), each scored at 1/2" and 3-1/2" on the short side.

Fold both pieces on the score lines (one mountain, one valley) and burnish with a bone folder.

2. Cradle panels: 3” x 6” (cut 3), each scored at 1-1/2” on the short side.

Fold all three pieces on the score line and burnish with a bone folder.

3. Bottom stand: 2-1/2” x 6”, scored at 1/2", 1-1/4” and 2” on the short side.

Fold this piece on the score lines and burnish with a bone folder. It should look like a W.

ASSEMBLE CARD BASE

Working from the bottom up, we’ll glue the cradle panels together first. Adhere one flap on the first piece to one flap on the second piece. Next, adhere the other flap on the second piece to one flap on the third piece.

Now adhere the bottom stand to the cradle panels. This photo shows where to position the pieces.

Apply glue to the underside of the outer edges of the bottom stand and adhere it to the bottom section of the cradle panels.

Next, adhere the two top panels together by applying glue to the narrow mountain fold flaps which will be the top of the card.

Now we’ll adhere the top panels to the cradle panels. This photo shows where to position the pieces.

Apply glue to the underside of the narrow flaps at the bottom of each of the top panels and sandwich between the cradle panels. Lay this on a ruler prior to pressing in place to ensure the entire piece is no longer than 6”.

CUT PATTERNED PAPER PANELS

Cut the following patterned paper panels from your choice of paper:
1.    Narrow strips at top of card: 1/4" x 5-3/4” (cut 2).
2.    Top panels, front and back: 2-3/4” x 5-3/4” (cut 2) plus 2-1/2” x 5-1/2” white signature panel for back.
3.    Cradle panels, front and back: 1-1/4” x 5-3/4” (cut 4).

Adhere the patterned paper panels to the respective areas of the card base.

COMPLETE PROJECT

Embellish the front and back of the card as desired. I used gold mirror peel-off stickers along with ephemera and stamps from the So Lucky collection. I didn't have the dies in the bundle yet when I created this card so I fussy cut the front sentiment. That worked for me! Oh, and I added Glossy Accents to their fingernails - not sure if you can see it in the photos but it's there. ;)
