Nevertheless, She Persisted – A Shaker Card of Strength and Springtime Cheer
Hey crafty friends!
Today I’m sharing a card that’s close to my heart and full of color, sparkle, and a powerful message. “Nevertheless, she persisted” – a sentiment that resonates deeply with me – takes center stage in this springtime shaker card, surrounded by cheerful florals and a whimsical little birdhouse.
This design came together beautifully with products from Love From Lizi, featuring items from the April 2025 and March 2025 releases. I love how the bold purple contrasts with the soft florals, and those shaker bits just bring it all to life! Let’s get into the details!

Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Create the Card Base:
- Start with a standard A2 top-fold card base in white (4.25" x 11", scored at 5.5" on the 11" side).
2. Build the Background:
- Die cut the floral patterned paper using a stitched scalloped rectangle die.
- Die cut the birdhouse scene towards the top center of the floral panel to create your shaker window.

- Using the same stitched scalloped rectangle die, cut the purple patterned paper to create a scalloped frame. Mount this purple scalloped frame directly to the center of your card base.
- From the leftover purple paper, create a circle frame by combining the birdhouse scene die and a large circle die from the Background Builder 1 set. Adhere this frame around the circle opening on the floral panel.

3. Make the Shaker Element:
- Adhere a piece of acetate behind the circle window in the floral patterned paper.

- Die cut the birdhouse scene again from white cardstock and adhere it to the center of the purple circle frame on top of the acetate.

- Add foam tape around the back of the floral panel to create your shaker well. Fill with clear sequins, then seal the back using a scrap piece of the purple patterned paper.

4. Assemble the Focal Point:
- Mount the entire shaker panel to the card base, centered inside the purple scalloped frame.
5. Add the Sentiment:
- Stamp “Nevertheless, she persisted” onto a stitched white cardstock rectangle using clear embossing ink.
- Heat emboss with purple embossing powder for a beautiful, glossy finish.
- Pop the sentiment panel up with foam tape just below the shaker window.
6. Finishing Touches:
- Add a few clear or iridescent sequins around the card front to bring in extra sparkle and visual balance.
