Masculine Nautical “Sea You Soon” Card & a set of Tags With Guest Designer Patricia

We're so excited to share with you this card & tag set that guest designer Patricia created!  Let's hear from Patricia herself how she made them!

Welcome crafty friends! I am so excited to be here as a Guest Designer this month and love to share my creations with you.  When I saw The Beach collection it was love at first sight!
I'll be making a masculine card with a nautical touch and a set of tags perfect for any occasion.

In this tutorial I will be practicing layering, die-cutting and using ephemera in your designs.  Follow along and get inspired to create!

You will need:

  • 8.5"x11 white cardstock
  • DP from To the Beach 6"x6" collection
  • To the Beach clear stamps
  • Ephemera pack from the collection
  • Wave stencil from the collection
  • Nestabilities Ovals dies
  • Blue & Black ink
  • Foam adhesive

Let's start with Masculine "SEA you Soon" card

  1. Cut the white cardstock 4.25"x11". You will get two pieces. Then fold each piece in half 5.5" to create two cards bases measuring 4.25"x5.5"
  2. Cut one piece 4.25"x5.5" of design paper from the To the Beach paper pad collection to adhere it to the card front.
  3. Die-cut 2 ovals: one from the center of the card along with DP and another from a different patterned paper from the paper pad collection, this last one, then adhere it to the inside of the card, aligning it with the window.
Then using foam adhesive, attach the striped cut out lighthouse from the Ephemera pack inside the oval for a dimensional effect.
  4. Decorate the card front with one of the Seagull also from the pack and finish with a banner featuring the stamped sentiment from the clear stamp set "SEA you soon" in black ink.

And voila! A stylish masculine card with depth and a nautical them that's sure to impress!!

Now for the Tag set

Each tag will have a unique design, combining backgrounds, stamping and embellishments.
  1. I use a tag die to cut several pieces from white cardstock
  2. Using the wave stencil from To the Beach collection and two shades of blue ink, blend the design onto two tags.

For the remaining three tags, I will use different techniques!  I attached designer paper from the collection to one, and added a border to another to add layer and contrast; I die cut a tag from one of the patterned paper from the paper pad i just could not resist... this paper pad is so creative!

  3. Add the Ephemera die cuts to embellish each tag, for some I use foam adhesive for depth.
  4. I stamped meaningful sentiments to the tags using "To the Beach" clear stamp set.
  5. And to finish it off I added a red ribbon to each tag.

These tags are perfect for gift wrapping, adding a special touch to presents, or just like the card - to brighten someone's day!!
