MASCULINE FUN FOLD

MASCULINE FUN FOLD

Hey everybody, happy Wednesday! I hope you’re enjoying some nice Spring weather and it hasn’t gotten too hot yet where you are. I’m wondering something… do you ever create masculine fun folds? I love a good fun fold in any theme and for any occasion! Leslie here, sharing a tutorial for making a faux center step card in a masculine style. This card features papers, stamps, ephemera, and sequins from our 'For Him' May release. I also used paper from our Neutrals paper pack and some pretty gold foil from our Matte Mirror cardstock bundle in the store. This card was definitely a fun one!

These are the products I used on my project which may include affiliate/ad links that earn me a commission at no additional cost to you.

CUT THE CARD BASE AND LAYERS

WHITE CARDSTOCK:
1.    Card base: 4-1/4” x 11”, scored at 4-1/2”, 9” and 10”
2.    Faux center panel: 2-7/8” x 8”, scored at 2-1/2”

PATTERNED PAPER:
1.    Faux center panel (plaid from the A Spot of Autumn paper pack): 2-3/4” x 5-3/8”
2.    Base front panel (dotted from the A Spot of Autumn paper pack): 4-1/8” x 4-3/8”
3.    Base bottom panel (black from Neutrals paper pack): 7/8” x 4-1/8”

ADHERE THE LAYERS

First, adhere the dotted and black patterned paper panels to the card base.

Next, adhere the plaid patterned paper panel to the faux center panel.

Finally, you’ll notice in the photo below there is extra assembled panel (for the inside sentiment) and those pieces are not shown in the photo above. I apologize for that - they were laying off to the side and I didn’t realize it until it was too late. Cut the following pieces for the inside sentiment panel:
1.    Gold mirror cardstock (from the Matte Mirror cardstock bundle: 4” x 4-1/4”
2.    White cardstock: 3-3/4” x 4”
3.    Plaid patterned paper embellishing strip (from the A Spot of Autumn paper pack): 1/2" x 3-3/4”

Simply adhere the embellishing strip to the white cardstock panel, then the white cardstock panel gets adhered to the gold mirror cardstock.

ASSEMBLE & ADD THE SENTIMENTS/EPHEMERA

Adhere the faux center panel to the card base being careful to apply adhesive only to the very bottom of the long front flap and the very bottom of the short back flap. Center the long front flap and press it in place. Fold the short back flap over the top of the card base and press it in place.

Using stamps in the Heartfelt Hello Stamp Set, stamp the first part of the sentiment in black ink directly onto the faux center panel.

Then stamp the large ‘Hello’ portion of the sentiment in a dark yellow ink on white cardstock, fussy cut it, and add it to the bottom.

Next, add the hat from the Vintage Escapes Ephemera so it looks like it’s hanging on the ‘Hello’.

For the inside sentiment panel, stamp a sentiment from the Summer Botany Stamp Set in the black ink, and add the sunglasses ephemera.

COMPLETE THE PROJECT

Randomly adhere an assortment of sequins from the For Him Sequin Mix to the card front.

Adhere the inside sentiment panel to the inside of the card base, and this will complete the project.

An optional step is to cut a 4” x 4-1/4” panel of patterned paper for the back of the card. This will hide the short flap on the faux center panel.
