MAGICAL HOLIDAY SEASON

MAGICAL HOLIDAY SEASON

Hey everybody, happy Wednesday! How you doing with your Christmas cards and projects? I’m actually pretty well on track because I love making Christmas stuff all year long! Leslie here, sharing a tutorial for a circle pop-out card featuring papers, gold foil cardstock and stamps from the November Festive Tales release (along with our stitched circle dies). Oh my gosh, if you haven’t yet seen this release, you need to check it out! Despite it’s complex look, this card is really simple, so let’s get started!

These are the products I used on my project:
Cozy Christmas 6x6 paper pack
Festive Tales Specialty Cardstock Bundle (gold foil)
Merry Little Christmas Stamp Set
Stitched Circle Nested Cutting Dies

CUT CARD BASE & LAYERS

DARK RED CARDSTOCK (FROM STASH):
Card base: 4-1/4” x 10-1/2”, scored at 2” and 6-1/4”
Die cut circles: Use the 9th smallest die in the Stitched Circle Nested Cutting Dies set (cut 2)

PATTERNED PAPER (FROM THE COZY CHRISTMAS 6X6 PAPER PACK):
Top flap (dark green): 1-3/4” x 4”
Bottom flap (floral): 4” x 4”
Inside embellishing strip (floral): 1/2" x 3-7/8” (approx.)

IVORY CARDSTOCK (FROM STASH):
Inside sentiment panel: 4” x 4”

GOLD FOIL CARDSTOCK (FROM THE FESTIVE TALES CARDSTOCK BUNDLE):
Front embellishing strips: 1/4" x 3-7/8” (cut two)
Inside embellishing strip: 1/4" x 3-7/8”

MAKE CIRCLE TEMPLATE

Using the 9th smallest die in the set, cut a circle template from copy paper, then fold it in half.

ADHERE LAYERS & CUT CIRCLE INTO CARD BASE

Adhere the dark green patterned paper to the top flap and the floral patterned paper to the bottom flap.

Leaving the bottom flap down, close the top flap and use the 9th smallest die in the set once again to cut a circle into the card base. Use the copy paper circle template for correct placement. Line up the fold line on the template with the top edge of the flap, gently slide the die into place while removing the paper template, and secure it with low-tack tape on both sides.

Open the top flap and flip the card base over. This is what the back side of your card base should now look like.

ADHERE CIRCLE DIE CUTS

Flip the card base back over, fold the bottom flap up, and close the top flap. This is how you would envision the card closed.

Adhere one of the die cut circles into the groove, applying adhesive only to the bottom portion of the circle. Check to be sure the top flap lifts over top of the circle and doesn’t get hung up.

Flip the card base over again and adhere the other die cut circle to the back. This gives it a nice finished look.

Flip the card base back over, open both of the flaps, and adhere the inside sentiment panel to the bottom portion of the inside of the card base. Now adhere the embellishing strip across the top of the panel.

ADD SENTIMENTS & COMPLETE CARD

Stamp a sentiment from the Merry Little Christmas stamp set in red ink on a piece of ivory cardstock, and cut it with the 8th smallest die in the same stitched circle die set. Adhere it to the red die cut circle at the top of the card.

Add the two front embellishing strips cut from the gold foil cardstock in the Festive Tales Cardstock Bundle to the bottom of each of the front flaps.

Open the card and stamp another sentiment from the same stamp set in red ink. Add the remaining embellishing strip cut from the gold foil to the wider floral embellishing strip. The card is complete!
