GRATEFUL FOR YOU TRI-FOLD
Hey everybody, a very happy Wednesday to you as we roll right on into September! Do you like to have extra thank you cards in your stash? I sure do – it seems like I’m always needing one or three! Leslie here, sharing a tutorial for making another version of the tri-fold. There are so many out there and I really like this one because it’s made in a vertical orientation rather than horizontal. I used several items from our September super kit that contains an amazing array of products. Lizi curates a super kit once a year for the kit subscribers as a way of saying thanks for their support. This is an awesome deal because the cost of the super kit is the same as a regular monthly kit despite it being nearly double the value. Non-subscribers can grab it as a one-off purchase but it does cost slightly more. And we’re told it does sell out quickly every year so be sure to get yours before it sells out!
These are the products I used on my project which may include affiliate/ad links that earn me a commission at no additional cost to you.
Garden Grace September 2025 Super Kit:
Garden Grace 6x6 patterned papers
White cardstock
Specialty Cardstock Bundle (Mink Pearlescent)
Garden Grace Pin Stripe Bundle (Ocean Blue)
Garden Grace Stamp Set
Dried Flowers
Stitched Label Nested Cutting Dies (8th largest)
Stitched Rectangle Nested Cutting Dies (largest)
Tropical Escapes Mixed Size Gems
CUT CARD BASE & LAYERS
WHITE CARDSTOCK (FROM SUPER KIT):
Folded card base: 4-1/4” x 10-1/2”, scored at 4-1/4” and 8-1/2”
Inside layering panel: 4” x 4”
Die cut label: Use the 8th largest in the LFL Stitched Label Nested Cutting Dies set
NAVY BLUE CARDSTOCK (FROM STASH):
Flat card base: 4-1/4” x 5-1/2”
Top front layering panel: 4-1/8” x 4-1/8”
Bottom front layering panel: 1-7/8” x 4-1/8”
Inside layering panel: 4-1/8” x 4-1/8”
PATTERNED PAPERS (FROM SUPER KIT):
Flat card base: 4-1/4” x 5-1/2”
Top front layering panel: 4” x 4”
Bottom front layering panel: 1-3/4” x 4”
Inside embellishing strip: 1/2" x 4”
ADHERE LAYERS
Start with the flat card base and adhere the patterned paper panel to the navy blue cardstock layer.
Next, move on to the top front panels on the folded card base. Adhere the patterned paper panel to the navy blue cardstock panel and adhere the piece to the card base.
Similarly, for the bottom front panels, adhere the patterned paper panel to the navy blue cardstock panel and adhere that piece to the card base.
Now open the folded card base and adhere the inside navy blue cardstock panel and then adhere the white inside layer to that. You can’t see it in the photo but I also adhered the inside embellishing strip cut from patterned paper to the top of the white panel.
Now adhere the folded card base to the flat card base, centering it horizontally.
STAMP SENTIMENTS & IMAGE
Using the Garden Grace stamp set from the super kit, stamp a floral image on the die cut label in black ink. Color the image with colored pencils. Next, stamp a sentiment from the same stamp set in dark green ink. Use a very pale blue alcohol marker to outline the image and make tiny dots all over the background for a little interest.
Now stamp another sentiment from the same stamp set in dark green ink on the inside white panel.
ADD FOCAL & EMBELLISHMENTS
Adhere the focal image to the left side of the card front.
Create a floral cluster from some of the dried flowers in the super kit. Wrap it with white twine and tie a bow. Adhere this to the right side of the focal image.
Adhere a few white gemstones from the Tropical Escapes Mixed Size Gems carried in the store.
Using the edge of the largest die in the LFL Stitched Rectangle Nested Cutting Dies set, die cut a stitched edge on two strips of Mink Pearlescent cardstock from the super kit. Add an Ocean Blue peel-off (from the Garden Grace Pin Stripe Bundle in the super kit) to each strip and adhere them to the outside edges of the flat card base. Add one more very narrow Ocean Blue peel-off just off the edge of the strip on each side.
COMPLETE PROJECT
The only thing left to do now is to add a small disc magnet to keep the card closed.
