Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Die-Cutting the Butterflies:

Start by creating the heart of the design—those delicate butterflies. Die cut the tiniest butterfly shape from each color in the Linen Rainbow paper pack, letting the hues dance from one shade to the next.

For an extra whisper of elegance, die cut matching butterflies from pearlescent vellum. The shimmer of the vellum adds a soft glow that catches the light beautifully.

Next, layer each colorful butterfly atop its vellum counterpart. Use a small dot of liquid glue down the center of the body, allowing the wings to lift and flutter, creating an airy, 3D effect that feels like they might take off at any moment.

2. Creating the Card Panel:

Take a piece of black cardstock and die cut it with the second largest Lawn Fawn stitched rectangle die. The black background will make the vibrant butterflies pop!

Stamp the inspiring sentiment, “She believed she could so she did,” along with the oval frame from the "She Did It" stamp set, placing it slightly off-center to the right—just inside the stitched border. This placement adds visual interest while leaving plenty of space for the butterfly arrangement.

Cover the stamped design with white embossing powder and heat set it until it transforms into a crisp, bold statement. The contrast of the white on black makes the sentiment shine with confidence.

3. Assembling the Butterflies:

Now for the magic! Arrange your rainbow of butterflies along the curve of the oval frame, letting their colors guide the eye around the sentiment. Attach each one with liquid glue, just along the center, so their wings remain free to flutter.

For the focal point, layer the larger butterfly. Die cut one from white cardstock and another from pearlescent vellum. Stack them together, placing the vellum on top for an ethereal finish. Add two tiny rhinestones to the body, creating the perfect glimmer of detail. Using a foam square, position the large butterfly at the top of the oval frame. The lift adds dimension, giving the impression that this butterfly is ready to soar.

4. Building the Card Base:

To create an elegant frame, die cut a white border using a Taylored Expressions die and adhere it to a top-folding white card base with liquid glue. This delicate detail adds polish to the overall design.

Then, secure the black cardstock panel onto the center of the framed base using foam tape. This extra layer creates depth and makes the entire design feel elevated—literally!

5. Finishing Touches:

Add a final sprinkle of sparkle by placing tiny rhinestones on the bodies of the small butterflies. To balance the design, tuck a few clear flat sequins into the top left and bottom right corners of the black panel. These subtle details catch the light just enough to keep the eye moving across the card.

Closing Thoughts

This card is a celebration of color, courage, and creativity. Each butterfly symbolizes growth and transformation, perfectly framing the empowering message. Whether you're celebrating a graduation, a promotion, or a personal triumph, this card is a heartfelt way to say, "You did it!"
