Bold Blooms & a Sweet Sentiment: “With Love” Card Inspiration
Today I’m sharing a cheerful card bursting with color, dimension, and just the right amount of sparkle. This “With Love” card came together using a vibrant floral die cut layered over a bold yellow background — the perfect combo for sending sunshine in an envelope!
I began by adding a yellow patterned paper along the left side of the card to bring in a warm, cheerful contrast. Next, I layered a set of beautifully illustrated floral die cuts vertically to draw the eye through the design. For the sentiment, I used a “With Love” shadow die to cut directly into the card front, then backed the opening with more of the same yellow to make the words pop. I carefully inlaid the die cut letters into the opening — almost like a little crafty game of Operation — and adhered them in place for a clean, dimensional finish.
For finishing touches, I added clear embellishments and glittery details to bring this bouquet to life. The result? A vibrant and heartfelt card that’s perfect for birthdays, thank yous, or just because.

Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Prepare the card base:
Start with an A2-sized card base (4.25" x 5.5"). Choose a patterned yellow paper and trim a strip to adhere along the left side of the card front, about 1.75" wide. This sets a warm and cheerful tone for the entire design.
2. Die cut the sentiment window:
Place the “With Love” shadow die white space of the card panel and run the card front through your die-cutting machine to create a window opening.
3. Add a yellow backing panel:
Trim a small piece of yellow dotted patterned paper slightly larger than your sentiment opening. Adhere it behind the die cut window (onto the card base) to create a colorful background for the words to stand out. Adhere the card panel to the card base using foam tape.
4. Inlay the sentiment letters:
Die cut the “With Love” words using white cardstock. Carefully fit and adhere each letter into its matching space in the die-cut window — like piecing together a puzzle or playing a game of Operation — to create a seamless, dimensional sentiment.
5. Arrange and adhere floral die cuts:
Select several floral die cuts or ephemera pieces with vibrant colors. Arrange them vertically along the card front, overlapping slightly for a full, layered look. Once you're happy with the placement, adhere them down using liquid glue and foam squares for added dimension.
6. Add final embellishments:
Finish the card by adding a few clear embellishments, glitter drops, or sparkle accents around the florals and sentiment for extra shine and texture.
This card is a great reminder that a little color and shine can go a long way. Whether you’re crafting from a kit or working from your stash, layering elements like this can add instant charm. I hope it inspires you to send a little handmade love today!
